Amulet Estate
Saint Helena, California
The proposed design for Amulet Estate thoughtfully expands and refines the existing winery to accommodate the estate's evolving needs. Using an intentionally restrained approach and natural materials, the building connects to the surrounding agricultural character and rolling landscape of Napa Valley.
The new hospitality area is conceived as a cohesive collection of simple, well-proportioned volumes that complement the existing estate rather than compete with it. The buildings are raised to match the top of the vines, responding to the topography and existing site conditions and allowing the buildings to sit organically within the vineyard landscape. A carefully selected palette of natural materials reinforces the connection to the landscape and establishes a sense of permanence and authenticity.
